Do our prices seem too low?

Pete explains why in an email he sent to our newsletter subscribers through Constant Contact.

I have been doing some research into the prices other sites are charging for Specialty Grade Coffee. I keep finding most of the prices a LOT higher than our coffee is priced. This kind of worries me. I want to assure all of our customers that we have the very highest grade of specialty coffee available. We can keep our prices low because we have no overhead like a larger company has, we work from an office in our house and my roasting barn, (a modest 740 sq/ft) is right here in my yard. Its just my wife Barb and I doing the work, Isaac (our son) helps by thoroughly cleaning the barn and with the roasters duct works monthly cleanings. No employees, just family. We are truly a Mom
and Pop business!

Another reason we can keep our prices down is we pick up our green coffee ourselves. I combine a trip to Uline shipping supplies with Cafe Imports and fill my little trailer as full as I can and it only costs me 100 miles worth of gas.

Most of you may already know that I built and maintain the web site myself, another BIG savings! But its also the reason things may be a little “sticky” or “buggy” with our site. Please let me know as much detail as you can with problems and I can debug them easier. I need the feedback to help maintain and improve the site.

That kinda sounded like a rant but its really more of just an explanation to how we operate and why we can keep prices down. If our prices seem high compared to another sites, its probably not selling true Specialty Grade but passing Commodity Grade off as a higher grade coffee, beware, compare apples to apples.

Another way to help us keep prices down is for you our happy customers to tell your coffee drinking friends! Word of mouth, in todays world, social networking, Tweets or Facebook posts are the best advertising!

This roaster can do from 1 lb per batch, up to 27 lbs per batch, over 100 lbs per hour is possible. This gives us the flexibility to roast for the smallest retail order up to a few chains of coffee shops!

I love the computer controlled profile system too! Computer controlled roast profiling allows us to repeat the same roast level every time!

All of the wholesale roasted coffee in this store is bagged in a 5 pound zip resealable valve bag. The 25 pound size option will also be bagged in individual 5 pound bags.

The coffee roaster has a semi automatic touch screen profiler that will give me the ability to duplicate a roast profile for all of our coffees
