Coffee Porter Beer Awesome!

Here is a video of a home brewed porter using brewed coffee in place of some or all of the water I believe.  I will get the recipe from Mitch, who brewed this beer.

Mocha Java Cake

 

We shot this video as she was baking it for her family reunion later that day.

Heat oven to 350 °.  Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans or one 9×13 pan.

In large bowl, combine 2 c. sugar, 1 & 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, 3/4 c. cocoa, 1 & 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 & 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. salt.

Add 2 eggs, 1 c. milk, 1/2 c. vegetable oil and 2 tsp. vanilla extract.  Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup hot espresso made with Mocha Java Blend, or one cup hot espresso or strong coffee of your choice.  Batter will be thin.

Bake approximately 30-35 minutes.  Allow to cool completely.  Frost with Mocha Java Frosting.

Mocha Java Frosting

Mix 2 & 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 1/4 c. cocoa, 1/3 c. softened butter,  1 Tbs milk and 1 shot (2 Tbs.) espresso until well blended and smooth.  You may adjust the amount of espresso and milk to your liking.

Iced Coffee

I shot the following video while I was production roasting and after the roasting was all done.  You can see my scale and netbook computer next to the blender.  I used to stream a live video from that little netbook, now it just plays Slacker Radio. This is my workplace!

This is the way I like it.  Sometimes the simple things are best!

2 to 4 shots of Espresso or strong French Press brewed coffee.

4 to 8 ice cubes

Sugar to taste

Fresh brew the espresso shots, pour into blender add ice and sugar, blend until smooth.
