I just got back from a trip to Cafe Imports and they have Tanzania Peaberry in stock!!!!!

I picked up a bag each of Tanzania Peaberry, Ethiopia Yergacheffe and Papua New Guinea Kunjun Estate.

We had a big green coffee bean order today for Tanzania Peaberry and we are currently out of it until Monday  or Tuesday afternoon.  If you have ordered some or are going to we will ask you if you would like to wait for the Tanzania Peaberry to be in stock to roast your order or if you would like a substitute.

Good News: We have a new Guatemala coffee!

Bad News:  We will not have Guatemala Antigua for the remainder of this year.

Here is a little info about the Acatenango coffee that I just picked up this week and I will have it listed on our stores later today.

Guatemala Acatenango Roasted Coffee

1 Pound Fresh Roasted Coffee Beans

The newly-recognized region of Acatenango, Guatemala consists of over 5,000 hectacres of mountains, hills, and volcanic slopes. The Acatenango volcano is Central America’s third highest volcano, and coffee may grow as high as 6,500 ft. Coffee was first planted in this region in the 1880s, and today there are over 4,000 growers.

Average rainfall is between 48 to 72 inches per year, and the temperature ranges between 14 and 31 degrees Celsius.

Harvest takes place between mid January and March.

Cupping notes:

Floral, hazelnut, sweet, coconut, creamy body, spice, raspberry nose, lively acidity.

I found this You Tube video of a hike up the Acatenango volcano it is not about the coffee, just a hike up the volcanos.

I had a big night of roasting last night!  The newly renamed pre roasted coffee section is nearly sold out too!  Just an 8oz bag of Farmers Morning Blend left on it.  I roasted extra of all the batches that I could, I try to keep the roaster running full batches, so after today we should have about 5 or 6 different varieties on the “Roasted and Ready to Ship” section.

We have Kenya AA on sale for the rest of July.

We have a new shipment of Ethiopia Yergacheffe in!!!  We have been out since mid May I believe.

Our new date stamp arrived yesterday and I will be using it tonight during my Tuesday night coffee roasting session.

Also to clarify the roasted on date is on all of the coffee we roast and sell through our web site.

We are now placing the date roasted on each and every bag of roasted coffee we sell!

We are also redesigning our label to accomodate this better.  Some of you getting roasted coffee orders for about the last 2 weeks have seen how many labels I was putting on, this will cut down on labels on each bag of coffee.
